G1 Knowledge Test
Exam rules
- Two sections: 20 Road Signs, then 20 Rules of the Road.
- You must pass both sections — 16 out of 20 correct in each to pass.
- Fail one section and you retake only that section on the real test.
- Multiple choice; one correct answer per question.
- Read the official MTO Driver’s Handbook before booking your test.
What to expect
- •Road signs: regulatory, warning, and guide signs from the handbook.
- •Rules: right of way, lanes, speed limits, parking, school buses, sharing the road.
- •You cannot go back to previous questions once you submit — same as the real test.
Tips
- →Focus on school bus and railway crossing rules — commonly missed.
- →Know the difference between No Stopping, No Standing, and No Parking.
